Trend Alert: Wine Colored Lips

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to do a post about a new trend that I have seen a lot recently and that is wine colored lips! I personally love this trend because it adds a twist to the classic cherry red lip. It's especially beautiful on pale skin I think, because it really brings all of your features together.

Here are some pictures of wine colored lips:

I think that this trend is so beautiful! Especially for winter!

What do you guys think? Let me know!

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to do a trend alert on something that is so super cute and that is knuckle rings!

Now, I think that this is so cute because it is so tiny, but really in! So it won't really be a huge statement in your outfit, but you will still be being really trendy!

Here are some pictures of knuckle rings:

I think that these are so cute!

Books I want to Read!

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to share some of the books that I really want to read! I want to know if you have read them and what you think about them!

One of my favorite things to do is go to a book store (my favorite one is Barnes&Noble) and browse the teen section and write down books that I want to read!

Here are 5 books that I really want to read!

1) Sisterhood Everlasting

I am a huge fan of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series (even though I have only read the first one). I also love the movies! Here is what the back of the book says:

"From #1 New York Times bestselling author Ann Brashares come the welcome return of the characters whose friendship became a touchstone for a generation. Now Tibby, lena, Carmen and Brudget have grown up starting lives on their own. And though the jeans they shared are long gone, the sisterhood is everlasting.

Despite having jobs and men that they love, each knows that something is missing: the closeness that once sustained them. Carmen is a successful actress in New York, engaged to be married, but misses her friends. Lena find solace in her art, teaching in Rhode Island, but still thinks of Kostas and the road she didn't take. Bridged lives with her longtime boyfriend, Eric, in San Francisco, and though a part of her wants to settle down, a bigger part can't seem to shed her old restlessness.

Then Tibby arches out to bridge the distance, sending the others plane tickets for a reunion that they all breathlessly await. And indeed, it will change their lives forever - but in some ways that none of them could ever have expected.

As moving and life changing as an encounter with long - lost best friends, Sisterhood Everlasting is a powerful story about growing up, losing your way and finding the courage to create a new one."

Now I cannot wait to catch up on the series and read this!

2) Kindred Spirits

I cannot find it anywhere online where there is a description of this book, but it is basically about 4 women who confide in each other and tell each other all of their secrets!

I think that it looks like a great book!

3) Where it Began

I cannot wait to read this because Jenny Han (the author of the Summer I turned Pretty trilogy) said that it is "unputdownable"!

Here is what the back cover said:

"Gabby Gardiner wakes up in a hospital bed looking like a cautionary ad for drunk driving- and without a single memory of the accident that landed her there. But what she can recall, in frank and sardonic detail, is the year leading up to the crash.

As Gabby describes her transformation from Invisible Girl to Trendy Girl Who Dates Billy Nash (aka Most Desirable Boy Ever), she is left to wondering: Why is Billy suddenly distancing himself from her? What do her classmates know what Gabby does not? Who exactly was in the car that night? And why has Gabby been left to take the fall?

As she peels back the layers of her life, Gabby begins to realize that her climb up the status ladder has been as intoxicating as it has been morally complex.. and that nothing about her life is what she has imagined it to be. "

I think that this just looks so cute and really interesting!

4) The Lifeguard

"It's an unsettled summer for Sirena. Back in Texas, her family's splitting apart, but here in Rhode Island, at the cottage of her aunt, it's a different world. There are long days at the beach and intriguing encounters with Pilot, the lifeguard with shamanic skills. Sirena explores her obsession with Pilot and discovers his mysterious - almost magical - gifts."

I think that this looks like such a good read! I think that it looks charming, romantic and relatable.

5) Other Words for Love

"When an unexpected inheritance enables Ari to transfer to an elite Manhattan prep school, she makes a wealthy new friend, Leigh. Leigh introduces Ari to the glamorous side of New York - and to her gorgeous cousin, Blake. Ari doesn't think she stands a chance, but amazingly, Blake asks her out. As their romance heats up, they find themselves involved in an intense, consuming"

I think that all of these books look so good! Let me know if you guys have read any of these books and what you think about them!

Expect a Books to Read post on all of these!

DIY Jewelry Cleaner

Hey Everyone!

Something that I think people forget to do a lot is clean their jewelry!

It not only makes your jewelry very sparkly and shiny, but also helps it last longer!

Here is a recipe for your very own jewelry cleanser:

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon baking soda

1 tablespoon dish detergent

1 cup water

1 piece aluminum foil

1. Heat water in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes

2. Cut a pice of aluminum foil that roughly covers the bottom of a small bowl

3. Pour the hot water into bowl. Place salt, soda and dishwashing liquid into bowl. Place jewelry on the end of foil and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse jewelry in cool water and dry jewelry completely on a soft cloth.

* This works well for gold - filled, brass, nickel, silver and sterling silver. *

I hope that you guys try this out!

The Perfect School Bag

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to tell you guys about what I think makes up the perfect school bag.

First of all, I carry a Under Armour backpack and I honestly feel like it's the perfect backpack. It has so many different compartments to it and it has so many different things that make it great!

I have it in two different colors, navy blue and black. I have two backpacks because that helps me stay more organized ( I will talk more about this when I do my school organization video)! I really love the backpack for so many different reasons.

Here is a picture of the backpack I am talking about:

As you can see by all the zippers, it has so many different compartments.

I love how much you can fit in it as well. Last year, I had about 4 folder, a textbook, a binder, pencil bag, my lunch, my planner - it was insane but it really wasn't too heavy!

Here are pictures of all of the compartments:

This side compartment is where I normally put a water bottle, or my phone or something like that.
Now these pockets are on both sides. They are really deep and I normally put money in there or something like that so I can keep it hidden.
This is in the first compartment and it has a place where you can put pencils or your phone or something  like that. Now I normally put my phone in here, advil (for cramps), purel (to sanitize my hands from all the dirty germs that are around school),
Here is where all of my actual school stuff go. Where all of the not so fun homework goes:( haha

This is actually my favorite part of the backpack! It's a secret compartment where you can put all sorts of stuff in there! If I brought my laptop to school, I would put it in here. I actually put my makeup bag in there and pads/tampons, because they stay hidden!

Now, I want to know what your backpack looks like and where you put everything!

I also am planning on doing a whats in my backpack video once school starts!

Shoe Racks!

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to share with you something that will instantly make your closet look more organized! Those things that I am talking about are shoe shelves!

I got mine at Target and they were about $25 a piece! I got two, because I actually have quite a lot of shoes.

Here are some before and after pictures of what my shoes now look like:

As you can see they created a really organized vibe which I love! It's now so easy to see everything and have things not buried under other things.

I really hope that you guys get shoe shelves too! They are a life saver!

Splurge or Save? Watches

Hey Everyone!

If you guys follow me on my YouTube channel, then you know that I am in love with my Michael Kors watch. I wear it almost every day, it's great quality, goes with everything and very stylish.

I think that it is completley worth it to splurge on one of these watches. I got mine for Christmas almost 2 years ago.

Here's a picture of what mine looks like:
The first time I saw this watch though, I fell in love. I thought it was classic, gorgeous, but I was only 12 when I first saw it and 13 when I got it! I waited a whole year until I could get my hands on this baby and I'm so glad that I finally did!

So I think that if you want to invest in a nice watch, go for Michael Kors first and then you can build your collection up from there. I think its definitely worth the splurge<3

I hope that you guys liked this splurge or save post!

Trend Alert: Turquoise Jewelry!

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to a trend alert on something that has really always been popular, but has really been showing up a lot lately and that is turquoise jewelry!

I think that turquoise jewelry is beautiful and it goes with everything. It's classic but can also be modern depending on the setting that it is in.

Here are some pictures of turquoise jewelry:

Turquoise can be really expensive, but also cheap! They have some gorgeous turquoise jewelry at Forever  21 and Nordstrom!

You could pair a really gorgeous, chunky turquoise necklace with a white cami, jean jacket, some black skinny jeans and riding boots and that would be gorgeous for fall! You could also pair some big turquoise earrings with a white maxi dress and some strappy sandals and that would be perfect for the springtime!

I hope that you guys found this post helpful on a new trend and also how you could style it!

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to do a post about the new fall 2012 trends so that you guys could get a jump start on getting some trendy pieces worked into your wardrobe!

Here are some of the new trends for fall:

Rugged American

Basically what this means is to wear really cute camp wear almost. Loose, knit sweaters and plaid!

Jewel Tones

This means sapphire tones, ruby tones, emerald tones. Dark colors, but still colors.

Shimmer

Clothes that glimmer and shimmer. They have a sheen to them and a two toned look. They have two different materials on the clothing.

Textured Clothing

Clothes that have different textures going on.

Printed Pumps

I think that this is so cute. It will add so much to just a simple outfit.

Tux Pants

Pants that have a stripe running down the side of them, like a tuxedo

Graphic Print Sweater

Sweaters that have a lot going on and that are very busy - personally I think that this is so cute!

Daytime Clutch

Basically clutches are really meant for nighttime. Now, clutches during the day are really trendy.

Winter White

What this means is a white that isn't so bright. It's more of a cream white that's more appropriate for winter and fall.

Statement collars.

This is pretty much a clip on collar. It adds a lot of glam to just a regular old shirt.

Splurge or Save? Trends

Hey Everyone!

I am going to start, yet another series on my blog called "Splurge or Save". I thought that it would be a great way for me to give you my advice on weather you should splurge or save on certain items.

I thought I would start with trends. I am very leary on spending a ton of money on trendy items. I think if you want to splurge on a trendy item, then you go girl! I personally just don't think it's reasonable!

So instead of splurging, I choose to save. For trendy pieces I shop at Forever 21, H&M, Zara or Cotton On. These places are all quite cheap, but they are always up to date on all of the latest trends.

Now if you dont follow my "Trend Alert" series on here, then make sure that you go and read all my posts on that. I try to keep you guys updated on all of the newest trends that are out.

I hope that you guys like my new idea on this new series!

DIY Makeup Brush Cleanser!

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to share with you guys a recipe for a makeup brush cleanser that you can make at home!

All that you're going to need is:

1 tablespoon of white vinegar
1 cup of hot water
1 cup/bowl

You're going to mix the ingredients together, then soak your brushes for 20 mintues. After you let them have a nice soak, you want to rinse them in a hot then cold rinse, then pat dry.

I wanted to share with you guys this DIY because I feel like it's so important to clean your brushes (it prevents product build up and if your brushes are dirty, then they could potentialy clog your pores). Also, buying brush cleanser could really add up, so I think that it's great to be able to make your own!

Hope that you found this post helpful!

Happy brush cleaning!

Books to Read: Along for the Ride

Hey Everyone!
So I'm doing a post on one of my favorite books. Along for the Ride, by Sarah Dessen.

This is what the back cover says:

"It's been so long since Auden slept at night. Ever since her parents divorce - or since the fighting started. Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live. A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carfree teenage life she's been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend."

I was addicted to this book the second I opened it. I read this in 7th grade and I read it over the course of about 4 days. It's about 300 pages as well. I love the story line as well. I also love how the author lets your imagination run wild with how the characters look like and how their voice would sound.

I really want you guys to read this book though! I hope that you guys do!

A Nothing Book!

Hey Everyone!

I haven't heard of alot of people talk about something like this, but I thought that it would be a really fun idea to share with you guys!

It's called a nothing book.

I first heard about this in 8th grade, from my friend Sydney. She was telling me about how she had a nothing book that she would write in and it could be about anything that she wanted it to be about!

So I bought a nothing book and you can basically have it be a journal or even just staple a couple pieces of paper together and call it a nothing book! Haha!

Mine looks something like this:

I purchased mine at Barnes & Nobles! I like how it has the blank pages and how it has the almost vintage detailing inside the cover!

But anyways what I write in my nothing book are quotes, bible verses, quotes or even advice to myself! I think it's a great way to put all your feelings into a place of privacy - but it also it a much more complicated journal kind of thing. If that makes any sense!

I hope that you guys like this idea and let me know if you would like to create your own nothing book!

How To: Keep Your Closet Organized

Hey Everyone!

Long time no blogging! I know, but I wanted to share with you some of my tips and tricks in how to keep your closet organized!

My first tip would be to have all matching hangers. If you have matching hangers, your closet will not only look more organized, but it will also help your clothes hang the same way, therefore giving your closet a very organized touch.

My second tip would have to be color cordinate! If you cordinate it going from going lightest to darkest, then it will make it so much more easier to pick out an outfit because you can find what color you want so much easier!

I also recomend that you color cordinate according to what type of clothing item it is. Because then you can also pick out what color you want, but also what style you want.

Also, make sure that you arrange your closet according to the season. Move your winter clothes to the back of your closet when it summer and vise versa.

I hope that this helped you guys find ways to organize your closet better!

Books to Read: Thirteen Reasons Why

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to do another post about books that I want you guys to read!

So the last post about books that I did, was on a complete love story and was such a happy and romantic series! This book that I want to talk to you about now, is completly the opposite of that!

This book is "Thirteen Reasons Why". It is such an interesting and capturing book, that I think if you read it, you will love it!

This is what the back of the book says:

"You can't stop the future. You can't rewing the past. The only way to learn the secret.... is to press play.
Clay Jensen doesn't want anything to do with the tapes Hannah Baker made. Hannah is dead. Her secrets should be buried with her. Then Hannah's voice tells Clay that his name is on her tapes - and that he is, in some way, responsible for her death.
All through the night, Clay keeps listening. He follows Hannah's recorded words throughout his small town... and what he discovers will change his life forever."

Now, for me, this book totally captured me. I finished this book in about 2 days and I ended up really liking it! It takes so many twists and turns, but in the end it is very good!

If you guys have read this book, let me know what you thought about it!

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post!

xoxo
