Hey Everyone!
I know what you're thinking reading this post: "Abbey, how can you dress cute while basically wearing pajamas?" Well readers, let me tell you it is POSSIBLE and I will tell you how you can achieve it right in this very post!
I would say that I am the queen of wearing some type of athletic shorts with a tshirt and comfy shoes. I wore that exact outfit pretty much everyday of high school. Of course there were days that I would actually look like a hot mess with greasy hair, no makeup and glasses, but then there were other days that I looked actually presentable, but was crazy comfortable and that is what I will be teaching you how to do in this post.
Step #1: Buy cute & comfy bottoms! (Shorts, Leggings, ETC.)
I know that everyone thinks it's ridiculous to buy an expensive pair of athletic shorts, but trust me, you will thank me later if you do this. I personally am a huge LuLuLemon fan, but a lot of my friends love Nike, Under Armour or even the Championship brand from Target.
I personally love any of the LuLu shorts, my favorites are of anything with a stretchy, elastic band, like the ones pictured below.
These are a little bit harder to find in the stores, but I normally find mine just hanging around the store instead of in the designated shorts section.
With shorts that are cute, you're already halfway there. The LuLu shorts are crazy comfortable, but because they have that little symbol on the back, they are automatically cuter than any other short, in my opinion.
If you're interested in anything LuLu, then here is their website: http://shop.lululemon.com/?
Step #2: Buy t-shirts that are big!
Now, to some of you, you may think that may sound weird to buy a shirt that is a size or sometimes two sizes bigger than what you would normally wear. Honestly, I love looking like I don't have pants on because I think it actually looks really cute. But if you land the perfect t-shirt, then you will see a little bit of the end of your shorts.. that is the ultimate goal.
The picture above was taken at my college orientation, when my t-shirt length to short length ratio was on fleek:)
All in all, the big t-shirt life is the way to live.
Step #3: Buy cute shoes that are comfortable!
In the summer time, I am typically always wearing my rainbow flip flops, but during the school year, I am either wearing my Nike frees or my white Converse. These add such a cute flair, especially if you wear low socks, so they look a little more polished.
Now this is the most important step, Step #4: ACCESSORIZE!!!!
If you add a necklace, stud earrings, and some bracelets you are golden. My go to accessories would be my pearl earrings, some sort of dainty necklace, like my monogram necklace or any of my Tiffany necklaces and then my Lokai bracelet, a hair tie and then sometimes one of my David Yurman cuffs.
By accessorizing, it pulls the entire look together. It adds the final touches of cuteness to your look and it really makes you even though you are dressing lazy, you are still killing it.
Anyways, I hope that you guys liked this post and that it helped you figure out how to achieve the no effort, very cute casual look.
