What To Keep In Your College Backpack!

Hey Everyone!

I hope that you all are doing well :)) I've missed you!

As a second semester college freshman, I feel like I have really figured out what you should keep in your backpack at all times! Even if you aren't in college, you can customize this for high school as well.

First things first, the backpack that I use is by The North Face. If you are a long time follower of mine, then you probably remember my old Under Armour backpack. Honestly I could kick myself for not keeping that. Sometime during the summer I decided that I needed a new one for college, but I actually miss my old backpack every time I carry my new one :// I know, it's very tragic.

Anyways, The North Face doesn't have this color anymore, but if I had to go back and do it all over again, I would have chosen to get a black backpack. I do like my backpack, but sometimes it can look a little too reflective when its super sunny out.

Now onto what is actually inside the backpack that I find are my necessities :)))

#1 A Laptop

As a college student, you never know when you're going to need your laptop in a class or if you just want to stop at Starbucks or the Library on your way home to do some work. I personally have the MacBook Pro and I absolutely love it! I have had it since I was going into my sophomore year of high school and it is still doing its thang ;)

#2 A Laptop Charger

This obviously goes hand in hand with having a laptop in your backpack, but I cannot stress this enough. Nothing sucks more than being in the middle of doing something and having your laptop die.

#3 A Portable Phone Charger

I do not recommend carrying one that requires an outlet because you don't know if you're going to be able to sit by one. Mine is honestly one that my moms boyfriend gave to me, so I have no idea where it is from, but you can get them from Target or Best Buy.

#4 A Little Makeup Bag

No I am not saying that you should actually carry makeup with you. Lets be real, I don't even wear makeup to class. But, I do recommend having a makeup bag to carry bandaids, tampons, advil, hair ties and any other things that you think you may need when out and about on campus! My makeup bag is also from MAC that I got years and years ago! #stillgoingstrong

#5 Purell

Y'all, if you were to carry one thing with you, I swear this should be it. Being in college, I have gotten sick 3 times since I've been here because you are constantly being exposed to new germs. I try to use hand sanitizer between classes and always before I eat something.

#6 Headphones

This is another must you guys! I cannot tell you how important it is to have headphones when you are either in the library, the math lab or in starbucks doing homework. I even use them while doing my homework in my sorority house. I have one that is my "backpack" pair so I never have to worry about forgetting to put a pair back in my backpack.

Also, I find that it is a MUST to wrap a hair tie around headphones. It keeps them all together and so they don't get completely tangled. As a bonus you get a hair tie to tie your hair up with while you're using the headphones!

#7 A Wallet

I know that this seems pretty obvious, but I know that some of my friends just carry around their student ID, but I personally don't think that that is enough. You never know when you want to grab a quick bite to eat off campus or if you want to stop by the school store to see what new rifle paper company cards they have (guilty as charged). I highly recommend getting a wallet that you can attach to your keys so that you have everything with you at all times.

Kate Spade doesn't make these kind of wallets before, but I found some similar ones here and here.

#8 An Umbrella

Coming from Texas, rain isn't really a thing. It would maybe rain a few times a year (not joking) so coming to Alabama, I was completely foreign to the weird drops that come from the sky. With all of that being said, Alabama is one of the most unpredictable places when it comes to rain. It will be perfectly sunny and then all of a sudden, the sky opens up and down pours on you. However, if you have an umbrella with you, you can keep your backpack dry as well as yourself. The one that I have is Lilly Pulitzer and I love it because it just adds some extra sunshine on a rainy day.

I recommend keeping your umbrella in your backpack at all times. I just keep mine in one of the compartments on the sides that is meant for a water bottle.

Now obviously I do carry school supplies with me, but depending on what my schedule is like for that day, depends on what I carry in my backpack! However, these eight things are what are in my backpack everyday.
