At Home Manicure That Lasts & Heals

There are few things that make me feel more put together than having my nails done. I LOVE looking down at my hands and seeing perfectly polished nails staring back at me. What I don't love? The fact that I can't help but peel off the gel polish after about 10 days and seeing my brittle, peeling nails... I realllllyyyy don't love that.

So in order to start healing my nails (and save money as a bonus!) I decided to start painting my own nails at home. I used to all the time in high school and got pretty good at it, so I thought it would be fun to find the perfect routine that made my polish last, while also healing my nails.

You guys know by now that Katey McFarlan is my freaking girl. I will buy anything she recommends because a) I love her that much and b) trust what she says.
So a few months back when she posted about a nail routine that she was using, I immediately wrote down all of the products that she mentioned because I knew one day I'd be fed up with my weak,
post - gel nails.

Ciao for Now Milano

This Milan update is very much delayed considering I've been back in the US for almost 3 weeks now, but to be honest every time I sat down to write this post I always got really sad. Tears would fill my eyes as I would try to think of the proper way to say goodbye to my favorite place.

I have now come to terms with the fact that I am back in the United States and back in Tuscaloosa for my senior year (what?!) of college. Not gonna lie...the first couple days back in Tuscaloosa were hard. I had the distraction of being at my sorority all day but then once I was home it sunk in that I wasn't in the city that made me the happiest I've ever been anymore and I would be lying if I said that nights weren't filled with many, many tears.

If you've read my last two posts (which you can read here and here) you would know just how happy my time abroad made me. I truly feel like I was the best version of myself there and I miss it every single day. However, with that being said, it makes me want to work really hard to hopefully return abroad after graduation. Yes, you read that right - I am dying to go back to working abroad!

Now to get you caught up on all that happened after my Life in Milan #2 update...

After my sister left, I finished my last week at work. Once again, words can't describe how much I loved my time working at Spazio38. The people that I met and the experiences I got to have are some that I will cherish forever. I mean who wouldn't love to be surrounded by beautiful clothes all day and work with amazing people?! I truly felt so lucky to be there.

The weekend after I finished up at Spazio38, my friend Hayley and I ventured off to Verona and Venice. If you are interested in watching my vlogs from that weekend, you can here and here.

Verona was incredibly beautiful and surpassed any expectations I had. It is a city that is pretty underrated in my opinion, as I never really heard anyone say "you HAVE to go to Verona". It wasn't too far of a train ride from Milan, which is why Hayley and I decided to stop there for the night on our way to Venice.

Recent Reads #2

If you guys didn't know already, I fell in love with reading in 2018. I really did make it a goal of mine to start reading every night before bed and pretty quickly I became obsessed with reading...so much so that I would finish a new book every few days.

Life in Milan #2

I can't believe that time is going by so quickly...I truly never want to leave. It's hard to explain how I feel being here but the best way to describe what I feel is peace. I have  never felt such a sense of peace being anywhere in my life. Maybe it's because I feel like I am exactly where God wants me to be? Maybe because I'm doing what I know I'm meant to be doing? I feel like it's all of the above, but regardless I am still so thankful for the opportunity to learn and work in this magical place!

The Free People List

If you guys have been following me for a while then you know that my favorite store is Free People. I used to pretty much exclusively shop there my freshman year of college, but over the last couple of years I haven't been crazy about everything they've put out. Of course I would buy things here and there, but I never got on the site thinking "I'm in trouble" because I wanted everything...that was until a couple weeks ago.

I found myself scrolling through their site and pinning pretty much everything I saw to my "order" board. Of course I'm abroad, so international shipping is hard and if I needed to return something it would be even harder, so my purchases are going to have to wait until August. Even though that is the case, I thought that I would share what I'm dying to get my hands on!

Side Note: I really suggest you guys all make an "order" board on Pinterest. It helps me so much when it comes to doing an online order or in general remembering what I wanted to look for when going into a specific store. Highly recommend it!

I saw this bodysuit on a girl once and instantly fell in love with it...I didn't know it was from Free People until I stumbled upon it on their website. I love how it has a square neck and cap sleeves as I don't own anything like it. I know that this is something that can be transitioned well into fall because you can just throw it on with a pair of jeans and a jacket and be good to go.

I recently got my first pair of shoes from Free People and I'm pretty obsessed with them. I saw these on their website recently and I just think they are so cool! You wrap them around your leg yourself so you can go as high or as low as you want.
I have a pair of nude gladiator sandals and they are definitley on their last leg as I have had them since high school. I think I'll keep them around to wear out as my bar shoes, but I'll get these as my nice shoes #collegelife

There are few things better than pieces in your closet that you can throw on and are just mindless. You put on some cute shoes and accessories and you're out the door. I saw this romper and realized I have so many flowy dresses, but no flowy rompers. Well folks, that is going to change because once I saw this I knew it had to be mine. Not only would it be so cute for gamedays but it would also be cute to go out to dinner on a summer night. You could go braless or you could wear a pretty lace bralette, which is what I'll probably do.

Tops like these are perfect to keep in your closet because the bow instantly makes it look a little more innocent but the cutout adds a little bit of edge. A top like this is great to go out in or to meet your parents for dinner - it can go either way.

I have been on the hunt for a bodysuit like this for so long. I actually ordered one from ASOS before I left for Milan but returned it because it just didn't fit right. 99% of the time Free People things fit me like a glove so I think that I have found my match with this one - it's so cute!
Just like the other bodysuit, this can be transitioned into fall as well.

When I saw this top it reminded me so much of the Reformation bodysuit that so many bloggers have been getting. I love the look of the Reformation bodysuit, but I don't love the price tag. This one is so much cheaper and pretty much has the same look.

I have gone back and forth with wether I want this bralette or not for over a year now. I have come to the conclusion that since I never wear actual bras anymore, another bralette can't hurt, right? I love that this one is bigger than any other one I have so you'll be able to see the edges of it in a v-neck tee...which who doesn't love that look?
It's a great price and whenever I see someone wearing it, I always think how much I need it in my life! Come August, our love affair will begin.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this wishlist of mine! I have a couple other items pinned, but they are more fall items and since it will be miserable weather in Alabama until around October, I'll have to wait on ordering those. Once the weather starts cooling off, I'll be sure to make another FP list with my fall/winter picks.

Let me know what your FP picks are by tweeting me @AbbeyFHagan, I'd love to know!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read today, it means so much.
Love from Milan,

Abbey

Florence Travel Guide

I had a few days off of work following Paris fashion week so I decided to take advantage of the time off and take the train from Milan to Florence. I had heard nothing but incredible things about the city, so it was time to see it for myself and I was not disappointed! The city itself is so beautiful, the food is incredible and there is so much to see/do.

I actually vlogged my entire trip which you can watch here, here and here. In one of the vlogs I mentioned that I wanted to create a Florence guide for my blog, so here we are!

Life in Milan #1

It has been a few weeks since I have posted on here but I think I have a pretty valid excuse...I moved to Milan for the summer!

Channeling the 70s

There is something about hoop earrings and a neck scarf that scream 70s to me. Its a fun trend that I've been loving to play around with, so I thought today it would be fun to share how I put my own spin on it.

The Perfect Transition Piece

I don't know how I have gone so long without owning a classic denim jacket. It is truly the easiest thing to throw over any outfit because it instantly turns something slightly dressy into something casual. It is also the perfect transition piece for spring as it can easily be thrown over a dress, a romper or shorts to warm you up a bit for those breezy nights.

April Record

In April I became pretty obsessed with the blogger Amy Beth Campbell and I noticed that she shares these monthly lists that have purchases she has made and purchases she wants to make. I totally copied her with this idea because I thought it would be fun to share a monthly recap of what I found and what I want to buy! I'm going to call this my monthly records as I would love to look back on these to see a "record" of what I wanted/bought.

Spring with Opalhouse

When I say that the  Target Opalhouse collection has low key changed my life, I'm being serious. I have looked at everything online and it is truly all SO cute! So far I have purchased one thing from the collection, only because I knew if I stayed in the section for too long I would be in some SERIOUS trouble.
For today's blogpost I thought it would be fun to share some pieces from the Opalhouse line while also collaborating with another Bama blogger!

The Jeans You Need For Spring

If you are only going to buy one thing that I have ever recommended please buy these jeans from Madewell! These are going to be on repeat for me all spring and summer because they truly fit like a glove and can be paired with anything.

Paris Must - Dos

I went to Paris for spring break this year and to say it is a magical city is an understatement. The architecture, the people, the food - everything about Paris is like a picture book. When I went for the first time I was 13, so I was definitely too young to appreciate it. Going for the second time gave me  whole new perspective on the city.
For today's post I thought that it would be fun to share what I think is an absolute MUST when you visit the city of love.

20 Things I Learned At 20

Wow oh wow, I cannot believe that I am finally 21! I have been itching to be 21 for quite some time now....honestly just because I was in the awkward in between of not being able to get into the "cool" bars in Tuscaloosa, but too old for the under age bars - has anyone else ever felt this way at their school?
Regardless, I am so excited to finally be 21...I feel like I have celebrated my birthday for two straight weeks, as I took a birthday spring break trip with my dad to Paris, celebrated with friends at school on my actual birthday and went home for the weekend to celebrate with my mom. It has been quite whirlwind!

Recent Reads

How many of you always say "I don't have time to read" but then find yourself sitting on your phone for 20 minutes before bed? I think we are all guilty. In reality we could all spend time before bed reading! At the beginning of 2018 I made the choice to start reading before bed instead of playing on my phone and let me tell you, it has changed the way I sleep!

Keys to An Organized Closet

I think one of the most important parts of a room is the closet. This is where you show your style, your personality and I like my money where I can see it - hanging in my closet ;) Anyone catch the Carrie Bradshaw reference?

Spring Date Night

If you guys have been following me for a while, then you know I truly never wear color. So when it comes to spring and summer I try to stay true to myself and incorporate black, but I also try to dress for the season and wear some color. With that being said, you still won't catch me wearing super bright colors, bust pastels never hurt anyone!

Designer Dupes Volume 2

I did one of these posts a while back and got great feedback, so I figured, why not do one again? If you haven't read my last one, you can read it here. I have actually been researching dupes for the designer items below, so I figured why not share what I have found/actually plan on buying? If you know of any great designer dupes, let a girl know! #ballinonabudget

Okay honestly I have been obsessing over the chaos cases lately. Lauren Elizabeth (my favorite YouTuber), Kendall Jenner and Victoria Beckham all have them. Needless to say, I love the personalization of them, but how they aren't necessarily a monogram. Obviously I could never justify spending almost $200 on a phone case, so when I found the Etsy option, I fell in love. I think I will be buying this for myself soon.

New York City Travel Guide

Wow. Hi. Hello. Does anyone remember me? Gosh its been so long since I have posted on here.
Since I have gotten back into the routine of posting on my YouTube channel, I figured it was time to start posting on here again. I don't have a specific posting schedule in mind, but I'm going for the "when I can post, I will" sort of mind set - okay? Okay.

In my Chit Chat GRWM video I talked about how my best friend Katie and I went to New York for our fall break and we had an absolute blast. I thought as my first post back it would be fun to tell you guys what my favorite things were that we did, so that if you are planning a trip to New York soon, this could help you!

*Disclaimer* At the time, I wasn't posting on my blog so these photos aren't necessarily editorial, but I think they capture the moments we experienced perfectly!
