A Day of Errands

Sometimes I am guilty of running errands in a t-shirt and workout shorts with my hair and face looking like a mess, but you don't always have to look that way. You can still wear something comfortable, but you will look a little bit more put together if you put some effort into your overall appearance. I have found that wearing workout clothes when running errands just makes you instantly look more put together.

I personally don't have big boobs and so a lot of the time workout tops make me look like I am a 4th grade boy, so I tend to stray away from tight workout shirts and go for super loose ones. A lot of the time I don't even wear a typical workout shirt, but I will wear a Free People tank top.

In the Texas heat I can't get away with wearing leggings, so shorts are the way to go. To also combat the heat, throw your hair in a high, messy ponytail. If you're really feeling yourself, put on a little bit of makeup. I recommend concealer and mascara to make you look more awake and your eyes appear bigger.

Free People Wish List

A lot of you guys know, I have a Free People obsession. I have already done a post on what I find to be my FP must haves, so you guys can read that here.

If you guys have an account with FP then you know you can "heart" items and they will be in a folder for you. I tend to do that a lot, so I thought I would share with you all what is currently on my wish list.

This is something that I wouldn't purchase until at least August or September because it couldn't be worn until fall, but I absolutely love the way this sweater looks. It seems to have a very flattering cut and there is nothing I love more than baggy sweaters in the winter time because when paired with leggings or jeans, it makes your legs look super long and skinny. This is a bit pricy, but the Free People sweater are always fantastic quality.

Lately I have been so into lace because I love how feminine it looks. This top is so beautiful and I think it would be perfect with jean shorts for a casual day out or you could dress it up for a night out.

I own nothing like this in my closet, which is why I was so drawn to it. I think that this would be so beautiful at night with a nice pair of jeans and pumps. I think that low cut tops are so flattering on girls that have a little bit of trouble in the boob department because they make you look so slender. My prom dress was really low cut and I loved the way it photographed and looked in person.

I don't know if you guys will believe me, but I literally own one swimsuit. I don't know if its because I don't find any that I love or if I just don't spend as much time in the water as I should. But you guys when I saw this swim top I died…I am currently living for this. I think that it is so beautiful and I feel like it would be so flattering on. I may just have to order this one ASAP.

These shorts seem like the perfect "throw on and look like you tried" sort of shorts. With the silky material, it instantly looks a little classier. I could see myself pairing this with a simple vneck and sandals or dressing it up with a more fitted shirt.

I hope that you guys enjoyed knowing what I am currently lusting over from Free People. I know I love reading other blogger wish lists, so let me know if you would like more of these in the future!

Travel Beauty Must Haves

I recently got back from a two week trip to Hong Kong and Los Angeles and while traveling, I realized that there are some products I couldn't travel without, so #lightbulbmoment I thought I would share this in a blogpost!

Back in March while I was in San Francisco I picked up the Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black Dry Shampoo and let me just tell you -- RUN, do not walk, RUN to your closest Sephora and buy this. It is the best dry shampoo that I have ever used and this is coming from a girl with oily hair. This makes your hair smell amazing and look amazing. The travel size is $14 and 1.3 ounces and the full size is $28 and is 4.4 ounces. This is my second bottle of this stuff and I don't think I will ever try a different dry shampoo.

I'm not going to say that the perk of this is the small size, the perk of this is the product itself!! We have all gotten off airplanes before and just felt disgusting, especially if you have traveled internationally. This is great because you can take it in your carry on, spray it in your hair and walk off the plane looking like a million bucks.

Benefit roller lash is one of the best mascaras I have ever used. I was on a big Too Faced better than sex kick for a while, but when I watched my vlogs from high school a few months back I thought "oh shoot girlfriend your lashes look amazing" and at that time I had been using roller lash. I bought the travel size because I was leaving for Hong Kong that week and didn't want to take a full size with me. The travel size is .14 ounces and is $12 and the full size is .30 ounces and is $24.

What is great about buying travel sizes of mascara is that if you like to layer up your mascaras, you can take as many as you want and don't have to worry about stuffing your makeup bag full because of all your mascara choices.

When traveling, cuticle oil may not be something that is on your list of things to pack, but let me be the first to tell you that you need to pack it. I don't know if it is just me, but my cuticles get super dry and when I am traveling the airplanes make it even worse. This cuticle oil smells heavenly and is so tiny you won't even notice that it is there.

I always make sure to take a face mask with me when I am traveling for more than a couple days because I like to do face masks about 2-3 times a week. I wish I would have had this with me while in Hong Kong because it is so travel friendly.

I picked this up at Sephora in LA and it is a genius idea! It is from Boscia and in this little kit you get two of the luminizing black mask, one bright white mask and one green tea oil control mask. What is great about these is that once you have used it up, you just throw it away, leaving more space in your doc kit. I have used one of the black masks so far and the green tea one and I was so impressed by the results, I cannot wait to try the white one! Bosica used to be one of my favorite lines back when I first started experimenting with skincare, so I think that this has inspired me to start getting into it again.

I would love to know what you guys cannot travel without! Let me know on twitter @AbbeyFHagan

Future Room Wish List

As many of you know, I just completed my freshman year at the University of Alabama and when I return in August I will be living in my first apartment with four of my best friends! Because of that, I have been looking online for things that will be perfect for my new space.

Of course I am using everything that was in my dorm room tour, which you can watch here, except for the bedding (since I will now have a full bed -- hooray!) and the bedside table. I am really going for a clean, farmhouse, free people esque room…does any of that makes sense? Maybe it will once you see some of the things I am wanting.

First of all, I LOVE the way that this bed looks. I love how fluffy and whimsical everything looks and I am sure that it is so incredibly cozy. I am living in a furnished apartment so I don't get to pick my own bed frame/headboard, but when I do you best believe it will be something like this.

Credit: Architecture Art Designs

Next I want to order this piece so it adds some height to the room and it also allows me to add some fun, decorative pieces to it. I can already picture my coffee table books, jewelry boxes and picture frames just scattered up and down this! This could be what I am most excited about.

Credit: Hadfield

If you guys watched my dorm room tour, then you saw that I had a few different prints above my bed, which I absolutely loved. I am using all of those again, but I am buying a few more before I move in because I will have more space to cover since my bed is bigger. These are some that I have found online and I am in love! How cute are they?!

Also, if you are wanting to do a gallery wall, but don't want to spend too much money, buy greeting cards as some of your prints. That is what I did with a couple of mine and I am adding another to my wall next year. They are great for adding a small element to the wall, without breaking the bank. I love the ones from Rifle Paper Company.

Now this is something that I am not completely sure of yet, but it is something I think would be a great investment. I have heard so many things about GlamBoxes that I think if I am going to get something to store my makeup in, it might as well be this. Freshman year I had the things I used most of the time in a makeup bag and the other stuff were in baggies in my bathroom #professional. Have you guys used glamboxes before? If so, do you think that they are worth the splurge?

I have a few other things picked out that I definitely want to buy, but I think I'll wait to show you guys those until my room tour!

xoxo,

Abbey

Top 5 Drugstore Must Haves

I personally loooove watching other girls on YouTube talk about their drugstore favorites since I am always looking for great products that are also cheap. When watching the videos I can't help but think "are these things that they use everyday or things they occasionally use?" But these favorites from the drugstore are things that I can't do my makeup without, plus a nail polish that has been my go-to lately.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder

This powder has been my holy grail powder for the last four years. If you are to go out and buy one of the items I will be mentioning today, please let this be the one! It keeps you matte all day, it doesn't get patchy and it also doesn't look powered-y which is what I always look for in powders. I am in the shade 001 transparent. These are also $4.99 and last you forever.

Real Techniques Powder Brush

This brush and the Rimmel powder go hand in hand because this is the BEST brush to apply powder with. It is super fluffy, but dense enough to where you can still get a good application. If you are looking for your powder to apply more full coverage, I wouldn't recommend this because it does just sweep the powder over your face. This brush is $9.99 and if you are a beginner, Real Techniques is the brand to go with if you are wanting good quality brushes but not the department price.

Now you cannot get these brushes at CVS or Walgreens, but you can get them at Ulta in the drugstore section and to be honest, Ulta is where I buy all of my drugstore products anyways.

L'Oréal Linear Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner

I have been using this liquid liner since sophomore year of high school and I have never used another liner again. This passes the MAC liner that I used to use by miles. This is so easy to apply, it never gets flakey throughout the day and you can make your line as thick or as thin as you want. If I am going for a more natural look or if I am doing something more dramatic, I cannot not use this. It is such a staple for me. If you are wanting to try out a liquid liner, you cannot beat the price of $8.99 and quality of it.

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid

You guys, this is my holy grail nude lip! I have mentioned this in a video before, but this color really is my "your lips but better" shade. When I first bought it I couldn't tell if it was going to be too dark for my skin tone, but it ended up being so perfect. The formula is fantastic and the applicator is also great. I have to say you've got to apply these pretty thin or they won't dry. These are $7.99 and great quality, I have the color nude flush.

Essie Romper Room Nail Polish

Now I know that this isn't something that I would put on while doing my makeup, but you can get this at the drugstore so I thought I would go ahead and include it.

One of my best friends Baylie always wears the most beautiful pink on her nails and I always just assumed it was the cult favorite "Fiji" which I also had, but it turns out it was the color "Romper Room". I instantly wanted to drive to a drugstore to find it, but she told me that it was hard to find, which was true. So when I found this at the Ulta in Tuscaloosa I literally screamed and instantly texted Baylie that I had found her one true love. When I got home I applied it and it was honestly so opec and beautiful. You have to be careful though because you need to apply even coats or you may end up applying 3 coats on some nails and only two on the others.

I have to say that I threw away my Essie "Fiji" and my other nude pink from OPI because this one was just by far the best. It also didn't get that gross "old" pink shade after a few days that other polishes tend to do (anyone else)?

Those are my top 5 drugstore must haves, I hope that you guys found this post helpful and that you go out and try some of them out!

YSL Makeup Haul

Yesterday my sister Halle and I decided to have a girly day and get our makeup done. I have always wanted to test out YSL products so I thought that we should go to the YSL counter. I honestly thought I'd come out with a lipstick but I ended up falling in love with brand overall…my sister and I literally cannot stop talking about how we want to be YSL girls, I know #obnoxious. So in true beauty guru fashion, let's hop into this haul and see what's inside this lovely bag.

P.S. I am totally saving this bag and hanging it on my wall…#fashionmajorproblems.

Sadly I do not have any pictures of what my face actually turned out like, but the lady who did it did a great job. I literally pointed to the picture of Cara Delevingne and said that I wanted to look like that haha! I walked out with 3 beautiful products that I am obsessed with and a pretty gnarly gift with purchase.

I knew when she finished my eyes that I had to buy this beautiful palette! This is the couture palette in number 2. It is perfect for everyday or for a night out. You can achieve so much with these colors and the way they wear is absolutely beautiful.

I mentioned above that I knew that I wanted a YSL lip product because if you are a blogger, a youtuber or even just a girly girl, you know that YSL lip products are pretty much the crème de la crème. She used two products on me and I literally bought them both (I am a beauty counter representatives dream). I bought the classic rouge voluptè lipstick in 32. The pigmentation on this lipstick is amazing, it is a smooth as butter and wears so nicely. 10/10 would recommend.

The next lip product I bought is the vernis à lèvres glossy stain in 103. I had always heard about these and was honestly so intrigued by the packaging. These apply so beautifully and the applicator is perfection. I would even go as far as saying it is the best applicator I have ever used. This color can be applied pretty sheer or you can build it up for a perfect pout.

Because my sister and I spent a certain amount of money we got to walk away with a gift with purchase set. I was honestly so excited to see that it was skin care because before they did our makeup, they basically did a mini facial on us. The skincare products felt so luxurious and they really made our skin feel so soft and rejuvenated. This came with the toning and cleansing micellar water and the blanc pur couture lotion. I believe that these are an Asia exclusive because I cannot find them online!

I honestly could not be more impressed with this brand and I am honestly thinking about going back today and picking up a couple more things…what have I gotten myself into?

My Free People Must Haves!

If you guys follow my channel or any of my social media in general, then you know that I love Free People… love could even be an understatement, it's really an obsession. Lets just say I wouldn't be upset if my ashes were scattered around one of their stores…too much? Okay lets move on.

I personally love pretty much everything that they have, but there are a few items that I find I cannot live without. With that being said, I thought I would put together a guide of my must haves so that you know what I find to be necessities.

If you guys are to buy one thing off of this list, it needs to be this. I wear these all the time because they are so comfortable and they look good with everything. I hate it when my bra straps show in something and with this I love when you can see the halter because I think it adds a little something to an outfit. There are tons of knock offs of this style, but the Free People ones truly are the softest and best quality. I personally have about 6 colors, but I reach for the black 9/10 times.

I would say that this tee is the most versatile item on the guide because you can dress it up or down so easily. I have worn this to class before with running shorts and tennis shoes and I've worn it with jeans and jewelry to spice it up. These tees are incredibly soft and a must have. I have the white and black, but I am seriously itching to get every color.

3. Sunset Park Thermal

I got these on Nordstrom Rack back in October and I lived in them through the fall and winter months. These are so soft and look great with leggings or jeans. Some girls at my Bama will even wear these over their t-shirts to class. I personally can't really pull that off, but a girl can appreciate the effort that others make ya know? Unfortunately, these thermals are really hard to find now. On the site they have a couple colors left in size large but other than that I believe that these are being discontinued. However, I have found a similar style also by Free People here.

4. Mock Me Tank

So far this summer I have lived in this tank…it is a similar idea to the tee in the sense of it is so versatile. You can wear it as a coverup to the pool or out to dinner with your friends. I love the high neck and the low sides…it gives you a good excuse to rock your halter bra! Also, you cannot beat the price of these -- $20!

5) Lacey Denim Cutoff Shorts

I first saw these a couple summers ago and fell in love with the girly touch that the lace gave the shorts. I finally caved and bought these last summer and I absolutely adore them. They are super comfortable (which I find to be rare for denim shorts) and they look good with literally everything. I recommend these if you are wanting to add something a little different to your closet, while still remaining classic and feminine.

Also, I want to add that I know Free People is not the most budget friendly store..I know for me this store is everything I want my clothes to be and more, but it is hard on a college budget. What I do is check the Nordstrom Rack app everyday to see what new pieces they have added because they can be up to 70% off sometimes! Another trick I have is to buy shirts from the intimates line…they are so much cheaper and they don't look like pajamas or lingerie. It will save you so much money -- promise!

I hope that you guys enjoyed this little guide…while getting the links for you guys I have found some things that I am going to add to my wish list…Lord help me.

xoxo,

Abbey
