I personally loooove watching other girls on YouTube talk about their drugstore favorites since I am always looking for great products that are also cheap. When watching the videos I can't help but think "are these things that they use everyday or things they occasionally use?" But these favorites from the drugstore are things that I can't do my makeup without, plus a nail polish that has been my go-to lately.
Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder
This powder has been my holy grail powder for the last four years. If you are to go out and buy one of the items I will be mentioning today, please let this be the one! It keeps you matte all day, it doesn't get patchy and it also doesn't look powered-y which is what I always look for in powders. I am in the shade 001 transparent. These are also $4.99 and last you forever.
Real Techniques Powder Brush
This brush and the Rimmel powder go hand in hand because this is the BEST brush to apply powder with. It is super fluffy, but dense enough to where you can still get a good application. If you are looking for your powder to apply more full coverage, I wouldn't recommend this because it does just sweep the powder over your face. This brush is $9.99 and if you are a beginner,
Real Techniques is the brand to go with if you are wanting good quality brushes but not the department price.
Now you cannot get these brushes at CVS or Walgreens, but you can get them at Ulta in the drugstore section and to be honest, Ulta is where I buy all of my drugstore products anyways.
L'Oréal Linear Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
I have been using this liquid liner since sophomore year of high school and I have never used another liner again. This passes the MAC liner that I used to use by miles. This is so easy to apply, it never gets flakey throughout the day and you can make your line as thick or as thin as you want. If I am going for a more natural look or if I am doing something more dramatic, I cannot not use this. It is such a staple for me. If you are wanting to try out a liquid liner, you cannot beat the price of $8.99 and quality of it.
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid
You guys, this is my holy grail nude lip! I have mentioned this in a video before, but this color really is my "your lips but better" shade. When I first bought it I couldn't tell if it was going to be too dark for my skin tone, but it ended up being so perfect. The formula is fantastic and the applicator is also great. I have to say you've got to apply these pretty thin or they won't dry. These are $7.99 and great quality, I have the color nude flush.
Essie Romper Room Nail Polish
Now I know that this isn't something that I would put on while doing my makeup, but you can get this at the drugstore so I thought I would go ahead and include it.
One of my best friends Baylie always wears the most beautiful pink on her nails and I always just assumed it was the cult favorite "Fiji" which I also had, but it turns out it was the color "Romper Room". I instantly wanted to drive to a drugstore to find it, but she told me that it was hard to find, which was true. So when I found this at the Ulta in Tuscaloosa I literally screamed and instantly texted Baylie that I had found her one true love. When I got home I applied it and it was honestly so opec and beautiful. You have to be careful though because you need to apply even coats or you may end up applying 3 coats on some nails and only two on the others.
I have to say that I threw away my Essie "Fiji" and my other nude pink from OPI because this one was just by far the best. It also didn't get that gross "old" pink shade after a few days that other polishes tend to do (anyone else)?
Those are my top 5 drugstore must haves, I hope that you guys found this post helpful and that you go out and try some of them out!
xoxo,
Abbey
