Over The Knee Boots

Over the knee boots hit the ground running in 2016 -- suddenly they were everywhere!

I had always seen the Stuart Weitzman ones, but being a 19 year old college student, I could obviously never justify that hefty price tag. However, pretty much every shoe line has come out with their own version of over the knee boots, leaving the consumers with so many choices. 

As a Christmas gift, I got a card that read “this card is good for one pair of OTK boots”. I was incredibly excited that I was getting a pair and that I would also get the experience of going down to Nordstrom with my mom to pick them out myself. 

I didn’t know what brand I wanted, but I knew that I wanted black, flat OTK boots. I told the sales associate what I wanted and he brought out two different pairs (considering the fact that Nordstrom was pretty much cleaned out since it was December 26th). One pair being the ones that I purchased and the others being the Stuart Weitzman ones. 

I tried on the Ivanka Trump ones (regardless of your political beliefs, homegirl Ivanka can seriously design a shoe) and instantly fell in love. They hit me right in the middle of my thigh and were so comfortable. I also loved how they didn’t tie in the back, so that I knew they wouldn’t fall down when I walked. When the sales associate said that they were also on sale for $89, I was pretty much sold! 

I didn’t even bother trying on the Stuart Weitzman’s because a) I had gotten a spray tan that morning and was not about to get it all over the white boots he brought out and b) any fashionista knows not try on something that is out of your price range! It isn’t worth it in the end to fall in love and then get your heartbroken. One day though, one day! 

I styled these with a circle skirt, a simple tee and my favorite Burberry jacket. I love the fact that the jacket adds a conservative factor, but the skirt counteracts it with a flirty touch.
